NEW OIL WELL IN GUANACO FIELD
GeoPark Holdings Limited (“GeoPark” or the “Company”), the Latin American oil and
gas exploration and production company with producing properties in Chile and
Argentina (AIM: GPK), is pleased to announce the successful drilling and testing of a
new oil well in the Guanaco oil field on the Fell Block in Chile. GeoPark operates and
has a 100% working interest in the Fell Block.
GeoPark drilled and completed the Guanaco 6 well to a total depth of 2,760 meters.
A production test in the Springhill formation, at approximately 2,551 meters in a 12
meter perforated interval, flowed at a rate of approximately 1,578 barrels per day
(bpd) of oil through a choke of 12 millimeters, with a well head pressure of 654
pounds per square inch. These are preliminary results and further production history
will be required to determine stabilized flow rates and the extent of the reservoir.
Projected production rate for the well is 600-800 bpd. Surface facilities have been
constructed and the produced crude oil is now being marketed.
The drilling results from this well and preliminary interpretations of available seismic
data provide evidence that the Guanaco structure is approximately 6 square
kilometers in area with a preliminary 2P reserve estimate (internal) of approximately
6-7 million barrels of oil, approximately 3-4 million barrels higher than previous
estimates, and with the possibility of multiple drilling opportunities. The Guanaco field
is located in the south-central area of the Fell Block and the new 3D seismic survey
conducted during 2010 also suggests the possibility of finding traps and additional
resources to the south of the structure.
In other drilling operations, the Dicky 18 well was completed in the Springhill
formation with inconclusive results. Hydraulic fracturing stimulation is planned after
production tests recovered low hydrocarbon flow rates.
Commenting, James F. Park, Chief Executive Officer of GeoPark, said: “We are
pleased with the results from the Guanaco well which confirms the Guanaco oil field
as an attractive new development opportunity and further opens the Fell Block’s
south-central area to additional exploration possibilities. GeoPark remains committed
to investing in our effort to find and develop oil and gas reserves in the Magallanes
Basin in Southern Chile”.

Erupción Del Volcán Planchón-Peteroa .

Erupción del volcán Planchón-Peteroa, que comenzó el día 6 de septiembre de 2010, intensificándose el 18 de septiembre.
El Complejo Volcánico Planchón-Peteroa está ubicado en la cordillera de los Andes a los 35° 15' S y 70° 35' W, Región del Maule, Comuna Romeral. La estructura del volcán abarca una superficie oval de 78,5 km 2 y su cima alcanza los 4.107 m s.n.m. En el sector superior del complejo se desarrollan cuatro glaciares , con extensiones 2,5 a 8 km 2. La estructura del complejo está formada por un volcán antiguo, de edad pleistocena medio-tardía, que se encuentra profundamente erosionado y sin cráter definido (Peteroa-Azufre). Al norte de éste se desarrolla
en forma sobreimpuesta el Volcán Planchón, de edad pleistocena-holocena, que presenta una evolución marcada por etapas de actividad inter y tardiglacial, prehistórica e histórica, sin que se reconozcan conos o cráteres parásitos o adventicios. El colapso de un sector importante del cono basáltico-andesítico inicial del Planchón (Planchón 1), generó un violento flujo de detritos volcánicos, que alcanzó la Depresión Central de Chile, hasta ~95 km al NW. La actividad postglacial es fundamentalmente explosiva, muestra tendencias composicionales más evolucionadas y se desarrolló a través de cinco cráteres de explosión. Los procesos volcánicos eventualmente peligrosos que podrían ocurrir incluyen la erupción de flujos de lava, tefra, flujos u oleadas piroclásticas y la formación de lahares, crecidas y flujos de detritos volcánicos; así como emisión de gases, lluvia ácida, alteración físico-química de las aguas y actividad sísmica local.
La mayoría de las cenizas se dirigen hacia el sureste de Argentina, cuyas autoridades advirtieron a los residentes en la comunidad de Malargüe -94 kilómetros (58 millas) al este- de estar preparados en caso de una erupción de grandes proporciones.

Fotografía captada desde el espacio por la NASA de la mina de oro y cobre San José que a principios de agosto de 2010 se derrumbó, atrapando a 33 mineros bajo tierra. Diecisiete días más tarde, los amigos de los mineros y sus familias se llenaron de alegría al saber que los hombres habían sobrevivido. Sin embargo, la buena noticia llegó con una advertencia: el rescate de los mineros podría tardar meses.
La mina San José se encuentra al norte de la ciudad de Copiapó, Chile, en el desierto de Atacama, el más árido del mundo.

Quiero Ser Presidente De Chile: Para Tener Sueños Premonitorios.

Cuentan las malas lenguas que la ex-presidenta Bachelet durante su mandato, estaba muy preocupada, pues durante varias noches tuvo un sueño recurrente, por lo tanto, decició reunir a parte de su gabinete para relatarles lo sucedido.
El ministro del interior le aconseja que vaya a visitar a un señor en el campo que sabe interpretar sueños.
La ex mandataria llegó a la casa de este campesino y le cuenta el sueño: fíjese que me veo a mí misma, en la mano izquierda tengo un puñado de sal, en la mano derecha un puñado de monedas de oro y a mi mamá frente a mí, exhibiendo sus genitales.

Se Despide Un Genio: Gabriel José de la Concordia García Márquez.

Gabriel García Márquez se ha retirado de la vida pública por razones de salud: cáncer linfático. Ahora, parece, que es cada vez más grave. Ha enviado una carta de despedida a sus amigos, y gracias a Internet está siendo difundida.
Que yo no pierda el optimismo, aún sabiendo que el futuro que nos espera puede no ser tan alegre...
Les recomiendo su lectura porque es verdaderamente conmovedor este corto texto escrito por uno de los Latinoamericanos más brillantes de los últimos tiempos:
"Si por un instante Dios se olvidara de que soy una marioneta de trapo y me regalara un trozo de vida, aprovecharía ese tiempo lo más que pudiera.
Posiblemente no diría todo lo que pienso, pero en definitiva pensaría todo lo que digo.
Daría valor a las cosas, no por lo que valen, sino por lo que significan.
Dormiría poco, soñaría más, entiendo que por cada minuto que cerramos los ojos, perdemos sesenta segundos de luz. Andaría cuando los demás se detienen, despertaría cuando los demás duermen.

Siempre hay un mañana y la vida nos da otra oportunidad para hacer las cosas bien, pero por si me equivoco y hoy es todo lo que nos queda, me gustaría decirte cuanto te quiero, que nunca te olvidaré.
El mañana no le está asegurado a nadie, joven o viejo. Hoy puede ser la última vez que veas a los que amas. Por eso no esperes más, hazlo hoy, ya que si el mañana nunca llega, seguramente lamentarás el día que no tomaste tiempo para una sonrisa, un abrazo, un beso y que estuviste muy ocupado para concederles un último deseo.
Mantén a los que amas cerca de ti, diles al oído lo mucho que los necesitas, quiérelos y trátalos bien, toma tiempo para decirles “lo siento”, “perdóname”, “por favor”, “gracias” y todas las palabras de amor que conoces.

Quiero ser presidente de Chile, para que toda mi familia tenga trabajo (pituto) asegurado, para tener un nombre muy largo, viajar por todo el mundo, a costillas de mis compatriotas, y ser Senador de la República para siempre.
Eduardo Alfredo Juan Bernardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, Presidente De Chile entre los años 1994 y 2000.

1) CECILIA FREI LARRAECHEA (hija), Jefa de la Unidad de Atención de Víctimas y Testigos de la Fiscalía Metropolitana Centro Norte, del Ministerio Público, Santiago. Empleo estatal.

The Eruption Of A Galactic "Super Volcano" M87.

This image shows the eruption of a galactic “super-volcano” in the massive galaxy M87, as witnessed by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and NSF's Very Large Array (VLA). At a distance of about 50 million light years, M87 is relatively close to Earth and lies at the center of the Virgo cluster, which contains thousands of galaxies.

The cluster surrounding M87 is filled with hot gas glowing in X-ray light (and shown in blue) that is detected by Chandra. As this gas cools, it can fall toward the galaxy's center where it should continue to cool even faster and form new stars.

However, radio observations with the VLA (red) suggest that in M87 jets of very energetic particles produced by the black hole interrupt this process. These jets lift up the relatively cool gas near the center of the galaxy and produce shock waves in the galaxy's atmosphere because of their supersonic speed. The interaction of this cosmic “eruption” with the galaxy's environment is very similar to that of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland that occurred in 2010. With Eyjafjallajokull, pockets of hot gas blasted through the surface of the lava, generating shock waves that can be seen passing through the grey smoke of the volcano. This hot gas then rises up in the atmosphere, dragging the dark ash with it. This process can be seen in a movie of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano where the shock waves propagating in the smoke are followed by the rise of dark ash clouds into the atmosphere.

In the analogy with Eyjafjallajokull, the energetic particles produced in the vicinity of the black hole rise through the X-ray emitting atmosphere of the cluster, lifting up the coolest gas near the center of M87 in their wake. This is similar to the hot volcanic gases drag up the clouds of dark ash. And just like the volcano here on Earth, shockwaves can be seen when the black hole pumps energetic particles into the cluster gas.

Crueldad Animal. El Cazador Español De Gatos: Jaime Ferrero Avila.

El sicópata mal parido Jaime Ferrero Avila, quien en su momento fue candidato del Partido Popular "Nuevas Generaciones" para el municipio de Talavera De La Reina, provincia de Toledo en España, aparece en las fotos haciendo gala de su pasatiempo favorito, la cacería y matanza de felinos, junto a sus amigos.
Para la mala fortuna de este hdp y de la suerte de los gatos que no alcanzaron a cruzarse en el camino de este desquiciado, se organizó una busqueda denuncia en internet por mails y sitios web, hasta que se logró identificar y dar con su paradero.
Este patán junto a sus secuases Carlos Vázquez y David Durán se declararon culpables ante los juzgados de Talavera, recibiendo sus respectivas condenas por parte de la justicia española, expulsiones del partido y todo el repudio de la sociedad, gracias a las pruebas aportadas por organizaciones de defensa animal y al poder de la comunicación masiva con la tecnología actual.
